“Clouds will increase during the afternoon today as a low-pressure system approaches. High temperatures will top out in the low to mid-40s. Tonight rain will overspread the area, with potential for a wintry mix in the northeast that should change over to freezing rain during the overnight hours. Low temperatures will bottom out at or below freezing northeast of a Lafayette to New Castle line, and this could allow light icing amounts to accumulate on elevated surfaces and untreated roads. Motorists should use caution if traveling late tonight into early Saturday morning over northeastern parts of central Indiana. For the rest of central Indiana, temperatures are expected to remain above freezing, and thus these areas should see rain with no ice potential.”
