Rain showers will overspread central Indiana from southwest to northeast throughout the day today, and all of central Indiana should see soaking rain at some point during the day.
Thunderstorms, a few of which could be strong to severe, are possible as well, with the best potential for strong to severe storms across southern and eastern portions of central Indiana from around daybreak until late afternoon.
After a cold front moves south and east of the area later this afternoon, the chances for thunderstorms will diminish but showers will continue into tonight, with scattered showers possible through much of the night.
By Wednesday morning dry conditions and clearing skies are expected across central Indiana along with slightly cooler temperatures.
Rain and isolated thunderstorms chances return Thursday afternoon.
Showers and thunderstorms will move into central Indiana from the southwest this morning.
A few of these storms could be strong to severe, with the most favorable timing from daybreak into the afternoon.
Showers continue into tonight.
CENTRAL INDIANA HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible today. Isolated severe storms are possible, mainly southeast of a Sullivan to Rushville line, through the midday hours. Damaging winds and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning are the main threats.
Storm motion will be from the west southwest around 35 mph.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Wednesday through Monday.
Chances for thunderstorms are in the forecast on Thursday afternoon, as well as over the upcoming weekend. Severe storms are not expected at this time.
