Heavy snowfall rates are expected Monday afternoon through early Monday night, with treacherous travel conditions arriving for the evening commute. Also, winds are expected to be strong later this evening and tonight further endangering travelers with blowing and drifting snow as well and lower visibilities.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect starting tonight for portions of central Indiana. 4 to 8 in of snow is possible in the warning area with the highest snowfall totals expected over SE central Indiana.
Bitterly cold temperatures will impact central Indiana tonight with wind chills in the -19 to the 0-degree range.
Bitter wind chills as cold as 22 below zero Saturday night and 15 below Sunday night are predicted.
Flurries will be possible through midday today after which quieter weather is expected into tomorrow.
