The 500 Festival has announced the entertainment for the 2016 KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball will be platinum-selling pop group, Walk Off The Earth. The event will be held Saturday, May 28 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
Walk Off The Earth is an unconventional, multi-talented five-piece musical phenomena that is taking the world by storm. The chart-topping viral hit-makers have extended the boundaries of what a 21st century band can bring to pop music and pop culture. The multi-platinum selling group released their Columbia Records sophomore album, ‘Sing It All Away,’ in 2015. The Canadian-based quintet, Marshall, Gianni Luminati, Taylor, Joel Cassady, and Sarah Blackwood, established a significant global following when their cover of Gotye’s “Somebody I Used To Know,” ignited the blogosphere, garnering more than 171 million YouTube views. To date, they’ve accumulated almost a half billion cumulative views and more than 2 million subscribers. Their single, “Red Hands,” generated 11 million Spotify streams and spent five weeks at #1 on AAA radio.
“This year’s KeyBank Snakepit Ball promises to be an incredible party, with entertainment from an internationally recognized, platinum selling group, Walk Off The Earth, the event promises to live up to its theme, Spectacle,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO, 500 Festival. “The Snakepit Ball is the culmination of all that the 500 Festival does to celebrate the Indy 500 and provide month of May experiences, relevant to a wide variety of people.”
Hosted by Andrew Luck and Nicole Pechanec, the 2016 KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball is race weekend’s most exclusive party attracting celebrities and VIPs in town for race weekend. The entertainment of Walk Off The Earth will complement the theme for this year’s KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball, “Spectacle: A Night Circus Celebrating The Greatest Spectacle In Racing.” On the eve of the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500, the Indiana Roof Ballroom will be transformed into a mystical black and white circus featuring cirque-style performers and enchanting characters. Attendees will don their best race couture to walk the televised red carpet before joining the night circus and enjoying the festivities.
