The Indiana State Fairgrounds will rumble when the 30th Anniversary edition of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Fall 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals presented by GEICO Powersports comes to town on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 16-18, part of the Lucas Oil 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals Series. The Lucas Oil 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals series is America’s largest 4×4 series, attracting truck and jeep enthusiasts nationwide to the city of Indianapolis every September.
The 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals has not only been supplying families with 4×4 entertainment every fall, but has also provided a significant economic impact to the local and regional communities consistently for over three decades. The Jamboree will bring over 4,700 truck and jeep enthusiasts, from racers to show truck owners, and over 72,000 spectators to the area for the weekend’s events. Event participants and spectators will fill area hotels and motels for miles surrounding Indianapolis and provide a boost to area restaurants, bars and other retailers.
This year’s event will feature more monster truck action than ever with several new trucks making their Indianapolis debut and with a special appearance by 8-year-old monster truck sensation, Kid KJ and his kid-sized “Monster Bear” truck. Megasaurus will also make his 4-Wheel Jamboree debut. In addition, a non-stop schedule of 4×4 excitement including the Mickey Thompson Tires Tough Truck Challenge, Burnouts, NMRO Championship Mud Drag Racing, Mud Bogs, pro-judged Show-N-Shine competition, Monster Truck rides, Magnaflow Dyno, Miss-4-Wheel Jamboree, and much more.
The biggest, baddest 4x4s roaming the earth are monster trucks, and the General Tire Monster Truck Thunder Drags coming to the Indianapolis 4-Wheel Jamboree will feature some of the top trucks in the world. The E3 Spark Plugs Bigfoot will be joined by the Lucas Oil Stabilizer, Avenger, The General, Stomper, Heavy Hitter, Raminator, Rammunition, Black Knight, diesel-powered Pureflow DieselRx Airdog, and new trucks, Star Marshal and “the truck that wants YOUR autograph”—Chalkboard Chuck. These ground-pounding behemoths will compete in side-by-side drag racing and in axle-wrenching freestyle competition.
The kids will have one of their own to root for on the monster truck course when 8-year-old monster truck driver Kid KJ comes to 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals. Kid KJ has been a crowd favorite wherever he has appeared with this scaled-down-to-size monster truck called “Monster Bear”. Especially popular has been his signature “school bus crush” to the tune of the “Wheels on the Bus go round and round”.
A new addition to the Monster Truck Thunder Drags will be the fire breathing, car crushing beast called Megasaurus. This animatronics dinosaur will entertain crowds during each of the shows.
Between rounds of monster truck action, America’s best ride truck—Sergeant Smash will provide spectators a chance to experience some of the twists, turns, and jumps of a monster truck all weekend.
More thrills will come from the Mickey Thompson Tough Truck Challenge. These trucks take on the clock and each other over a course filled with big-air jumps and tight turns. Competitors will range from the “grip it and rip it” stock tough trucks, to more mechanically sophisticated modified classes. Mickey Thompson tires also will sponsor the crowd-favorite Burnout Competition on Sunday, where the smokiest, noisiest contestants are judged by fans-in-thestands cheers and applause. The most enthusiastic response will win that driver a new set of tires from Mickey Thompson along with a trophy and hat.
Some trucks are heading to Indianapolis for judging in a more thoughtful and quiet way by professionals. These trucks, lovingly prepared, pampered and polished machines will compete for Show-N-Shine awards in multiple classes spanning “daily driver” 4x4s to exotic show trucks. Hundreds of these trucks will be parked throughout the Fairgrounds offering spectators a chance to stroll for hours admiring and learning from the endless variety of customizations on display.
NMRO Championship Mud Drag Racing returns in 2011 to the Jamboree in Indianaplis with lightning-quick runs on a challenging, ever-changing dirt and mud drag strip. The trucks competing start out looking like familiar 4x4s and Jeeps in the stock classes and go all the way up to fire-breathing supercharged, nitrous-injected, paddle-tired rail dragsters. Also, don’t forget about the TruckShowNation.com Mud Bogs, these slippery slimy mud bogs will be tons of fun. With 6 different classes to participate, everyone can enjoy getting dirty.
The endless activities at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals presented by GEICO Powersports also include the horsepower-measuring Magnaflow Dyno, where participants can get the real-deal, atthe-wheels performance numbers for their rides. Also, ladies will compete for the cash prize, sash and crown of Miss 4-Wheel Jamboree on Sunday afternoon before an always-packed appreciative crowd at the main stage.
