The Official 24-hour cycling event of the Lance Armstrong Foundation will take place near the Butler University Campus this weekend, possible causing some traffic tie ups. Referred to as the “Inagural 24 Hours of Booty,” teams will gather for camping, food, and fun, and motorists and residents will need to be prepared for some traffic restrictions. Most of the activity will be taking place in the East Mall, also known as “Bootyville.”
The course will be well-marked, barricaded and coned-off to traffic around the course. Police officers will be stationed at all major intersections to help direct cars, cyclists and pedestrians. One lane around the “Booty Loop” will be closed for cyclists the entire 24 Hours of the event.
Residents should utilize Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department controlled entry and exit points. If a street is closed, then please proceed to the next staffed street. Traffic along Boulevard Place between W. 49th and W. 52nd will move northbound only. Additional police will be placed on the course to direct traffic around the course and to keep traffic flowing as smoothly as possible.
