Late Summer at DeBoest Lecture Hall
Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 9:00PM
A quiet film that follows the end of a season between an African-American mother and daughter, who are best friends but must soon part ways. Last year, Nadia was accepted to a prestigious college but stayed home to take care of her mom, Sonya, who had fallen ill. A year later, Sonya has fully recovered, but Nadia refuses to leave. She wants to stay with her mom and start a tea shop together. However, her Aunt Mattie has different ideas. As summer ends, decisions are made. Inspired by the films of Yasujiro Ozu, LATE SUMMER explores the passing of time as seen in the love and loss between a parent and child.
Tickets start at $10.
