Saturday, January 19, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm
In this one-day workshop, geared toward beginners, students will focus on the basics of knitting. This includes learning how to cast on and bind off, along with the four basic stitches. The fabric characteristics of the swatches created by those stitches will also be discussed in depth. One swatch will incorporate “garter” and “stockinette,” the other will incorporate “seed” and “1×1 rib.” Students are welcome to bring snacks or a sack lunch to this workshop.
Courtney Spainhower is a mother, wife, knitter, spinner, pattern maker, gardener, baker, crafter and a wearer of many hats. She is also the owner and creator of Pink Brutus Knits and Lucy & the Bird which are sold online and at our own Homespun: Modern Handmade.
Workshop fee is $80.
Students must provide their own supplies. The supply list will be given upon registration; items can be purchased locally and are readily available.
