For the 17th consecutive year, the Hoosier Lottery will help kick off the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in Indianapolis with the ceremonial Greening of the Canal on Thursday, March 14.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees will be treated to free appetizers (while supplies last) and live Irish music, including Irish singer/songwriter Eunan McIntyre and the Indianapolis 500 Gordon Pipers.
The event starts at 4:30 p.m. and the Greening of the Canal will take place at 5:47 p.m. in front of the fountain immediately south of Ohio Street at West Street.
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, 2013 Irish Citizen of the Year and Indianapolis Sports Foundation Board President Robert V. Welch Jr. and representatives from the Hoosier Lottery will be in attendance.
