The Common Thread Collective was founded in 2011 by Bargersville native Jessica Wright, who used her training and passion for fashion design as a way to fight poverty-based prostitution and empower women around the world. The organization currently has one tailoring school and fashion-education based community center in rural northern Uganda and is working on expansion to India in 2014.
