Eagle Creek Park is accepting call for entries on Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Earth Discovery Center for its annual “Celebration of Nature” art exhibit and sale.
Entries can be dropped off from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, or 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the nature center inside the park, 5901 Delong Road.
Artists can enter an assortment of media including photography, sculptures, woodcarvings, oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, pen and ink, and fiber art.
Submissions are required to emphasize the natural world, which includes native wildlife, nature or landscapes in which there are no man-made structures, people, domestic or captive animals. Artists can submit up to three pieces of art.
There is no registration fee for this event. Artists can sell their artwork, and a percentage of sales will support projects within Eagle Creek Park through the Eagle Creek Park Foundation.
The show takes place Saturday, Dec. 7 through Sunday, Dec. 15 at the Earth Discovery Center. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
For 26 years, local artists have participated in this annual holiday exhibit, which is the third and final nature-themed art show of the year at the park. It’s preceded by the “Wood Carver and Turner” exhibit and “Images of Nature” photography contest.
