Due to an injury that Nathan Followill sustained over the weekend in a tour bus accident, Kings of Leon will unfortunately have to cancel all shows over the next two weeks. Nathan is on strict doctor’s orders to rest to give himself adequate time to recover before the band can pick back up on their much buzzed about Mechanical Bull Tour.
Dr. Faiz Bhora, Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital says, “The process is now to rest in order for healing to take place. To avoid complications and to make a full recovery, a break from performing to August 28th is necessary.”
The band will return to the road on August 28th to take the stage at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.
Until then, fans can catch the band performing their new single, “Family Tree” TOMORROW NIGHT, August 12th, on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The band has enlisted the help of their friend, and resident band leader, Questlove to sit in on drums for a very special one-time only performance.
“I’m counting down the days until I can get back in the saddle and continue what has been our best American tour so far,” said Nathan.
Kings of Leon were involved in a tour bus accident en route to their hotel in Boston when a pedestrian jumped in front of their tour bus, causing the bus to stop short, injuring Nathan Followill. Nathan is being treated for broken ribs, but is doing well. The band previously postponed their show in Saratoga Springs, NY on August 10th. The show is now canceled until further notice.
