The Indianapolis Zoo will be the place to shake a tail feather when the two popular concert series, Zoolapalooza and Animals and All That Jazz, return this summer.
The lineups for these series feature a diverse mix of musical performers, including a few returning fan favorites and several acts that will be new to Zoo concert crowds.
Zoolapalooza presented by Indiana Members Credit Union will help guests start their weekend off right. Now in its fifth year, this concert series will feature some of the area’s top bands playing hits from past and present. The music will be rockin’ each Friday night from June 19 to July 10. The 2015 Zoolapalooza lineup will feature:
- June 19: My Yellow Rickshaw
- June 26: The Bishops
- July 3: Jayne Bond and the Pink Martinis
- July 10: An Innocent Band
As the summer heats up, visitors can keep it cool with Animals and All That Jazz. One of the Zoo’s longest-running events, this concert series will showcase a range of distinctive artists, acts and musical stylings. Now in its 28th season, Animals and All That Jazz kicks off July 9 and continues every Thursday through Aug. 6. The 2015 lineup will include:
- July 9: Brenda Williams
- July 16: West Central Quartet
- July 23: Mina and the Wondrous Flying Machine
- July 30: Appalatin
- Aug. 6: Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra
Lineups are subject to change. For all concerts, live music will play from 5:30 to 8:30pm in the Party Pavilion near the front of the Zoo. Rides and animals will be available until 7pm, and with plenty of exhibits nearby, visitors can enjoy the full Zoo experience without missing a beat. In addition to regular Zoo fare, each concert will also include a featured menu of specialty food items, a full bar and beer sampling from Sun King Brewery.
Summer concerts are free for Zoo members and included with regular Zoo admission. Guests are encouraged to save time and money on their Zoo visit by purchasing advance tickets online at IndianapolisZoo.com.
