Yes, there is more than racing happening in Indy this weekend!
The Indianapolis Liederkranz Damenchor presents their annual Maifest! Maifest is a celebration of the awakening of spring that has been celebrated for centuries all over Germany. It is quickly becoming a popular celebration in the U.S. as well.
Come enjoy a colorful, festive evening complete with concert, traditional German dinner and dancing. (Haven’t you always wanted to dance around the Maypole?!)
Performers include the Indianapolis Liederkranz Damenchor (women’s choir) and the dance music will be provided by The Keyboard Kontinentals.
Tickets are $25 (Concert, dinner and dance are included. Full bar available.)
Tickets are available at the door, however, reservations are strongly recommended as this event typically sells out.
Reservations can be made by calling Margit Ball at 317-783-1433.
Free parking is available on McKim Ave. behind the FOP hall to the east of the club and the Ivy Tech lot off of Oriental St. just west of the club.
Founded in 1872, the purpose of the Indianapolis Liederkranz is the cultivation and perpetuation of German culture primarily through song and music as well as the cultivation and promotion of other cultural activities for its members and the community at large. The club has been in its current location since 1913.
