On June 21, 2015 at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) arrested three juveniles and one adult male believed to be involved in several pharmacy robberies in Marion County.
IMPD Detectives observed two unidentified subjects enter the Walgreen’s Pharmacy located on the 9000 block of East 38th Street. A male subject acted as a look out while a female subject presented a note to the pharmacist demanding pills. The subjects ran from the Walgreens to a nearby apartment complex. Witnesses reported observing a Red, Honda, CRV, exit the apartment a short time after the robbery, leaving the apartment at a high rate of speed. It should be noted that this vehicle description was given during multiple robberies in recent months.
Uniformed IMPD personnel conducted a vehicle traffic stop where they detained four unidentified subjects. Robbery detectives were notified and responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. A loaded handgun was discovered in plain view and items consistent with a robbery kit (i.e., various clothing, gloves, sunglasses) were viewed inside the vehicle compartment. Additionally, detectives removed one piece of clothing (i.e., black t-shirt with gold writing) matching the description of multiple robberies in recent weeks.
Three juvenile suspects and one adult male were arrested in connection with the robbery. It is suspected that this group may be responsible for 4-10 area pharmacy robberies. FBI Violent Crimes Unit have been made aware of the arrests and will submit their findings to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for possible federal charges against the male suspect.
Booking photos of the suspects will not be made available at this time.
