The decedent has been identified as Sharrod Crowe, 24, of Indianapolis. The second male victim, 24-year-old Bobby Williams Jr., continues to recover from his injuries at Eskenazi Hospital and is still listed in critical condition. Witnesses at the scene provided a limited description of a possible suspect seen fleeing from the scene. The description provided is a black male, wearing all black and armed with a gun. Friday July 3rd, 2015 – 11:54 PM
On July 3, 2015 at approximately 9:55 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to the intersection of East 16th Street and Dequincy Street on a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest in the alley north of East 16th Street. As officers canvassed the area, officers located a second adult, male victim with multiple gunshot wounds inside of a detached garage. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim located in the alley was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
IMPD Homicide investigators are currently conducting their investigation and interviewing witnesses. Investigators located forced entry to the detached garage; however, it is unclear at this time the connection between the victims or the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No motive has been established nor has a suspect description been determined. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency arrived to process the crime scene and gather forensic evidence. The victim’s identity is not being released pending positive identification and family notifications. More information will be released once investigators have an opportunity to conclude their investigation at the crime scene.
