Today at approximately 11:24 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Barbary Lane on a report of a person down. When officer arrived they discovered an unidentified male subject with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. EMS officials arrived a short time later and transported the victim to Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
IMPD Homicide detectives responded to Barbary Lane out of an abundance of caution should the victim not survive.
The Marion County Forensic Service Agency will remain on scene for several hours gathering and processing evidence. Detectives don’t believe this is a random act.
