Michael Martinez doubled twice and drove in three runs against his former team as the Columbus Clippers (49-41) defeated the Indianapolis Indians (52-38), 6-2, on Saturday night at Huntington Park. The Indians took the lead in the top of the first, but Jesus Aguilar singled home Tyler Naquin and Martinez in the bottom half to quickly erase the deficit.
Columbus would add to their lead with runs in the second and fourth innings and Martinez delivered a two-run single in the eighth to put the game out of reach. Will Roberts (1-1) and the Clippers pitching staff limited the Indians to just six hits to emerge victorious for the second time in as many nights during the three-game series.
