On March 10th, Fishers Music Works will present a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Fishers High School students to meet and learn during school from internationally acclaimed jazz instrumentalist, music educator, and author Jamey Aebersold. The Hoosier native Aebersold will bring to life his “Play-A-Long” series of instructional books at FHS for an in-school workshop called “Anyone Can Improvise”.
Aebersold, the National Endowment for the Arts’ 2014 Jazz Masters Award recipient, will also host his “And You Thought You Couldn’t Play Jazz” workshop later in the evening at 6:30 pm. This workshop will be available to the public and followed immediately by a concert featuring Jamey, his jazz combo, FMW’s Nickel Plate Jazz Orchestra, and several student musicians from Hamilton County Schools!
FMW is now accepting donations and sponsorships for this and other future clinics and workshops. A portion of all ticket proceeds will be donated to the FHS Band programs.
