INDIANAPOLIS – Detectives are investigating a shooting that has critically injured one man and left another man wounded.
Just before 7:30 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 3800 block of S. Keystone Ave reference a person shot. Officers arrived and found an unidentified male suffering from at least one gunshot wound already inside an ambulance. The man was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. A second person, who was initially transported to the Homicide office, was found to have been injured likely from the shooting was also sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure. It is believed that the victims were likely shot while at the Walmart parking lot (3800 S. Keystone Av). One of the men ran to the EMS ambulance that was parked at the nearby Dairy Queen (2400 National Av). There is a significant language barrier that has made obtaining reliable suspect information from the victim’s a challenge.
Detectives are canvassing the area for information, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is processing the crime scene for forensic evidence.
