INDIANAPOLIS – Detectives have released the name of the victim, he has been identified as 18-year-old Jerrold Parker of Indianapolis. Detectives continue to follow-up on several promising leads as the investigation continues. Detectives continue to urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers of Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is on the scene of a deadly shooting in the 4400 block of Winterberry Drive.
Just after 6:30 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 5200 block of Winterberry Circle on reports of shots fired. Moments later in a separate call, officers were advised that a person was shot inside a vehicle at the front entrance of the Woods of Eagle Creek apartment complex. This location is in close vicinity to the original call location. Officers responded to the front entrance and found in a vehicle an unidentified, and conscious male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS personnel transported the victim to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. It was at the hospital that the victim was subsequently pronounced deceased by medical professionals. The victim has not been positively identified. Upon positive identification and notification of next-of-kin the victim’s name will be released.
Detectives are canvassing the area for additional information, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is processing the crime scene for forensic evidence. Detectives have detained individuals for questioning but at this time, it is not known if any of them is involved. At the time of this release, detectives have not made any arrest in this case.
