Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) North District Narcotics detectives execute search warrant that leads to the recovery of a considerable amount of narcotics, two firearms and close to five hundred dollars.
Just before 10:45 a.m. on 08/18/2016 IMPD North District Narcotics and Vice detectives, along with North District Flex Team officers, served a narcotics search warrant in the 3800 block of N. Whittier Place. The IMPD Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team executed the search warrant, making entry and encountering the target, 34-year-old Devan Pierson, inside the apartment. A search of the apartment was conducted where the following narcotics were located:
- 1 ounce of cocaine
- 4 ounces of heroin
- 5 ounces of methamphetamine located in the bedroom and kitchen
- .45 caliber handgun
- Scales and paraphernalia for mixing and cooking drugs
- 2 drug presses
- $484.00 cash.
Detectives also obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s 2012 Chevy Malibu, where they located an additional .45 caliber handgun. The vehicle was seized for possible forfeiture proceedings. Devan Pierson is on federal parole for dealing cocaine, he was arrested for dealing and possession of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, SFV in possession of a firearm and maintaining a common nuisance.
The execution of this warrant and the results thereof, are another testament of the IMPD District Narcotics and Flex Teams commitment to the City of Indianapolis and their resolve to “Reduce Crime, Reduce the Fear of Crime, and Enhance Public Safety.”
