Several days later detectives received specific information that a handgun was located in a secret hiding place inside the house. Specifically, the information revealed that the handgun was located underneath a sofa cushion inside the house. Detectives in consultation with ATF Agents wrote and were eventually approved for a second search warrant for the Ralston Ave location that was executed on 1/25/17. Inside the house, detectives found the handgun underneath the sofa cushion and an additional approximate $200.
In IMPD’s continual and relentless efforts to follow-up, detectives were able to collaborate with our federal law enforcement partners and remove a gun from our streets.
