Junior Achievement of Central Indiana, Inc. (JA) announced that it is partnering with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) to bring a special JA Day® event to students at IPS William McKinley School #39 on Monday, January 23rd from 8:30am-3:30pm.
Members of JA’s Board of Directors and other community leaders will spend the day teaching hands-on, interactive programs about personal finance, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship to more than 500 students. A total of 24 classrooms will be participating, ranging from grades K-6.
These local business leaders will spend the entire school day at William McKinley teaching five impactful lessons in a one day immersive experience. JA programs engage students with adult role models and give them an appreciation for the value of education in achieving their future goals.
“JA is thrilled to have established a strong partnership with IPS to educate and inspire students to own their future success. This JA Day® event is an exciting opportunity to make a big difference in the lives of these young students in a single day,” said Jennifer Burk, JA’s President and CEO. JA anticipates reaching over 28,000 students in central Indiana during the 2016-2017 school year.
