Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives are investigating after a man succumbs to gunshot wounds sustained on the city’s far east side.
Just after 3 p.m. on 01/30/2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 3000 block of Bavarian E Dr, on reports of shots fired. While responding, additional calls came in stating that someone had been shot. Responding officers located a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, in the parking lot. EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to Eskenazi Hospital in extremely critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide detectives responded and began interviewing witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in collecting and identifying potential forensic evidence. The identity of the victim will be released once their next-of-kin has been notified.
