On Friday (2/24/17), just before 7:30 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 800 block of North Rural St. reference a body found.
When officers arrived, they found an unidentified female laying in the alley east of Rural suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. The female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel. To obtain the name of the victim, please call the Marion County Coroner’s Office who will release said identity once the family has been appropriately notified.
Detectives believe the victim was likely shot sometime late last night or early this morning. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for any additional information, but have not yet released any reliable suspect information.
