The victim identified as 31-year-old Brandon Thomas of Indianapolis, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries during surgery and was pronounced dead at the hospital by medical professionals.
Detectives continue to follow up on several leads but at this time detectives have not yet made any arrest. Detectives are looking for a gray 2004 Silver Dodge Stratus with Indiana plates XFW254. Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) investigate a shooting that has injured a man on city’s northeast side.
Just after 1:00 p.m. today (2/5/17), IMPD officers were sent to the 3000 block of Forest Manor Avenue reference a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old male victim outside a house lying on the ground suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS crews transported the victim to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The victim’s name is being withheld at this time due to his serious medical condition.
Detectives have canvassed the area for additional information, but have not yet released any reliable suspect information. The crime scene was processed for additional forensic evidence by evidence technicians.
