UPDATE
IMPD Accident investigators have released a photo of the suspect vehicle involved in the fatal pedestrian hit and run crash which occurred 02/09/2017 on W. 38th Street near High School Road. Based on evidence recovered at the scene, the vehicle has been identified as a white, 2000-2006 Chevrolet Suburban and the SUV sustained damage to the front passenger side from the collision. The Suburban has a sticker on the bottom center of the rear window.

IMPD Hit & Run investigators are searching for a light colored, 2000-2006 Chevrolet Suburban, with damage to the front of the vehicle, on the passenger side.

Just before 7 p.m. on 02/09/2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched on reports of a person struck in the 6200 block of W 38th St. Responding officers located an unresponsive male victim in the west lanes of W 38th St. EMS personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead on-scene.
Accident investigators responded and began processing the scene. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2005-07 GMC SUV, gray or silver in color, last seen driving west on 38th St. The victim’s name will be released once their next-of-kin have been notified.
