On March 11, 2017, detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department North District Flex Team with the assistance of North District beat officers were sent to the 2400 block of Plaza Dr (Carlton Apartments) after receiving an anonymous tip that drugs were being sold from a specific apartment.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and after making entry found two adults and a juvenile at the apartment. As a result of the investigation, detectives found significant bulk quantities of marijuana and marijuana products. The evidence indicated the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Collin Prestholt, was dealing marijuana, marijuana wax, and marijuana vaporizer cartridges to the resident of Indianapolis and Zionsville communities.
As a result of the investigation detectives found and seized the following items:
- 1 – rifle
- $46,000 in US Currency
- Money counting machine
- 50 (plus) individually packaged marijuana wax containers
- Numerous marijuana vaporizer cartridges
- 20 (plus) Large vacuum sealed bags with suspected marijuana residue, within 2 five gallon buckets
- Several bags of suspected marijuana
- 1 vehicle held for forfeiture proceedings
Collin Prestholt was arrested on preliminarily charges of Dealing in Marijuana L6, Possession of Marijuana L6, Maintaining a Common Nuisance L6. Additionally, 19-year-old Robert Pfister, was preliminarily charged with Visiting a Common Nuisance MB, and the 16-year-old juvenile male was arrested on preliminary charges Possession of Marijuana MA, Visiting a Common Nuisance MB. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case for charging decision.
The results of this investigation were made possible by the efforts of the citizens of Indianapolis coming forward with information, and the efforts of the beat officers who work that area. Together their efforts made a difference to positively impact a community. Frequently illegal drug selling leads to the likelihood of increased violence, and therefore IMPD will continue to find and disrupt locations and people that sell or deal in illegal narcotics.
