The Indianapolis Indians’ Opening Night is Thursday, April 6, when they host the Toledo Mud Hens at 7:05 p.m.
“Indians baseball has become a rite of spring in downtown Indy,” Indians President and General Manager Randy Lewandowski said. “Opening Night will be special, with everything from fireworks to a new HD video board to the sounds of the game. The crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd are almost here.”
Among the highlights for the season opener: the Indians 60-degree weather guarantee, Sun King Brewery’s Bike to the Ballpark, a schedule magnet giveaway and postgame fireworks.
As part of the Indians 60-degree weather guarantee, if the temperature at first pitch is below 60 degrees, fans with an Opening Night ticket will receive another ticket to an April game.
Also on Opening Night, Sun King, the official craft beer of the Indianapolis Indians, is hosting its seventh annual Bike to the Ballpark presented by Knozone. The party begins at 4 p.m. at Sun King’s downtown location (135 N College Avenue) and finishes at Victory Field. Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett will lead the 1.7-mile trek through downtown. The group leaves for the game at 6 p.m.
Bike to the Ballpark is free and open to all ages, but tickets to the game are not included. Fans can purchase a game ticket in advance at IndyIndians.com or the Victory Field Box Office to receive $2 off the price at the gate.
Once inside Victory Field, Sun King will be tapping a special selection of beers for fans 21 and older on Opening Night, including Indians Lager, Alrye’d Alrye’d Alrye’d Rye IPA, Sunlight Cream Ale, Pachanga Mexican Lager, After Party Apricot Sour and Small Batch Maibock.
The Tribe open with 13 games at Victory Field in the first 18 days of the season. Tickets for single games and season packages are available today at IndyIndians.com or the Victory Field Box Office.
