INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives are investigating after a 47-year-old male is found shot to death inside the residence.
Just before 4 a.m. on April 15, 2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 1600 block of Bates St on reports of a person shot. Responding officers located an unresponsive male victim in the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. EMS personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead on-scene.
Homicide detectives responded and began interviewing witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The identity of the victim will be available through the Marion County Coroner’s Office once proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
