JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard medevacked a 53-year-old woman Friday from the cruise ship Carnival Ecstasy approximately 150 miles east of Port Canaveral.
Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Command Center watch standers were notified by the crew of the Carnival Ecstasy at 10:43 a.m. stating a passenger was experiencing chest pain.
A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater helicopter crew launched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter. The helicopter crew arrived on scene at 2:30 p.m., hoisted the passenger along with a nurse from the cruise ship and transported them to Halifax Memorial Hospital in Daytona at 4:45 p.m.
