Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) North District Narcotics/Vice detectives, Flex Teams, and SWAT serve two warrants simultaneously, resulting in drugs and guns being confiscated and six arrests.
Just after 8:15 p.m. on 04/05/2017, detectives with the IMPD North District Narcotics/Vice unit, Flex Team officers, and SWAT Operators served a narcotics search warrant at two addresses in the 4300 block of Crittenden Avenue. SWAT made forced entry into both locations simultaneously (a double) and detained 4 subjects and a juvenile inside one side of the double and 2 subjects in the other.
Southside of double (PD17036901) – The target, 34-year-old Cornelius Brown, 49-year-old Anthony Dennie, 23-year-old Dalonte George, and 58-year-old Wilson Henderson, were detained. Detectives and officers conducted a search of the residence and located approximately 1-ounce of suspected cocaine, 1-pound of marijuana, 3 handguns (2 revolvers, 1 semi-auto), 1 .22cal rifle, $1,525.00 cash and a 1999 work van. Cornelius Brown and Anthony Dennie were arrested and preliminarily charged for dealing and possession of cocaine, dealing and possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, Brown was also preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependent. Dalonte George was arrested and preliminarily charged with visiting a common nuisance along with an open warrant for driving offenses. Wilson Henderson was arrested and preliminarily charged with visiting a common nuisance along with and open warrant for burglary.
Northside of double (PD17036890) – The target, 28-year-old Marvin Hawkins and 62-year-old Tom Brooks, were detained. Detectives and officers conducted a search of the residence and located approximately 5.64-ounces of suspected cocaine, less than 5-grams marijuana, 2 Xanax pills, 2 handguns, $510.00 cash and 2 vehicles. Marvin Hawkins was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing and possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and maintaining a common nuisance. Tom Brooks was arrested and preliminarily charged with visiting a common nuisance.
Further investigation revealed that two of the handguns were reported stolen from Crawfordsville and Indianapolis. All suspects were later transported to the Arrestee Processing Center for booking. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a charging decision. The cash and vehicles were seized for possible forfeiture proceedings.
Narcotics and Vice detectives across the city continue to address incoming complaints from the community as well as identify narcotics activity through their own independent investigations.
