Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a male on the city’s west side.
Just before 9 a.m. on April 10, 2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 900 block of W 35th St on reports of a person shot. Responding officers located an unresponsive juvenile male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. EMS personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead on-scene.
Homicide detectives responded and canvassed the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting possible forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) responded to assist with identifying the victim and exact cause and manner of death. The victim’s identity can be obtained from the MCCO once proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
