JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind.—The Indiana Department of Transportation will close lanes on U.S. Highway 31 between County Line Road and Stop 18 AND lanes on State Road 135 between Bargersville and Stones Crossing for pavement repairs on Monday (APRIL 24).
One-lane-at-a-time will close on U.S. 31 during daylight hours for full-depth concrete patching.
S.R. 135 will have a single lane closed at work sites during daylight hours while crews saw-cut pavement sections to be removed for full-depth concrete patching. Flaggers will direct motorists around crews and equipment during this moving operation.
No work is planned next week for the north section of S.R. 135 under contract between Curry Road and County Line Road.
E & B Paving is the state’s contractor for this $6.1 million pavement preservation project in Johnson County on U.S. 31 and S.R. 135. Once asphalt and concrete repairs have been made, operations will focus on milling and resurfacing the north-south highways. INDOT’s project also calls for installation of 19 ADA-compliant curb ramps.
Looking ahead, tentative schedules call for nighttime milling and asphalt patching on U.S. 31 beginning Sunday night, April 30. Crews will start placing concrete patches along the south segment of S.R. 135 during daytime hours on Monday morning, May 1. Flaggers will direct traffic around worksites. This phase of the project will continue for approximately two weeks.
