Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives have arrested 45-year-old Christopher Zinn for the shooting that killed 25-year-old Reginald Hendricks in 2016.
Members of IMPD’s Violent Crimes Unit picked up the suspect May 19, 2017, around 1:00 p.m. and brought him to IMPD Headquarters for questioning. After being questioned by homicide detectives, the suspect was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder. The suspect was transported to the Arrestee Processing Center by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for processing. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the investigative findings for charging decision.
Detectives would like to express their appreciation for all the tips and information they received in this case. This case serves as another vivid example of the commitment that our detectives continue to investigate archived cases when information becomes available.

INDIANAPOLIS – Investigators with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating a homicide after a man is shot and later dies at the hospital.
On November 14, 2016, just after 10:00 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were sent to the 1000 block of East Michigan Street reference a person shot. When officers arrived they found the victim, later identified as 25-year-old Reginald Hendricks, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS crews transported the victim to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately and tragically detectives were notified on 11/28/16 that the victim, Reginald Hendricks, succumb to his injuries while at the hospital.
According to witnesses, detectives believe that a 2014 or newer model 4 door Nissan Altima with chrome door handles that was being driven by a white male with short reddish brown hair and full scraggly beard is the suspect’s vehicle. According to witnesses the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal confrontation just before the victim was shot by the suspect. Detectives are hopeful that someone has information about the vehicle or information about this incident.
