Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man in the 1100 block of Congress Avenue.
Just before 2:00 a.m., May 30, 2017, officers were sent to the 1100 block of Congress Avenue for a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a 39-year-old male lying in the street suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition where despite best life-saving efforts of medical professionals the victim was subsequently pronounced dead. Please contact the Marion County Corner’s Office to obtain the victim’s name.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances and continue to canvass the area for additional information.
