UPDATE #1 – Wednesday, May 10, 2017, 5:11 PM
The victim from the earlier fatal crash on I-70 has been identified as 30-year-old Marc Cook of Martinsville, Indiana. Mr. Cook’s repair van was parked, with a yellow flashing light on top, just behind the disabled pick-up truck on the right shoulder when a Ford Expedition struck the rear of the van. The collision caused the van to pin Mr. Cook, who was outside the vehicle, between the front of the van and the rear of the pick-up. The Expedition was driven by 30-year-old Dangelo Dixson of Indianapolis.
Investigators determined Dixson was allegedly driving on a suspended license. Troopers believe alcohol is a factor in this crash and Dixson was transported to Eskenazi Hospital for a blood draw to test for intoxication. Upon release from Eskenazi, Dixson will be incarcerated at the Marion County Adult Processing Center. An arrest was made in this case based on probable cause of a crime, however, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine actual charges.
This continues to be an ongoing investigation with no further information to release at this time.
An arrest is merely an accusation, all suspects are innocent until and unless proven guilty in the court of law.
