Just after 10:00 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 1700 block of Roosevelt Avenue (Triangle Liquors) reference a person shot. When officers arrived, they found 37-year-old Trymaine Lewis laying in the parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS personnel rushed the victim to I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. Despite the best life-saving efforts of medical professionals at the hospital, the victim died during surgery.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency has processed the crime scene for possible forensic evidence. Detectives have not yet released any additional details to include possible suspect descriptions.
