Just after 5:57 p.m., on Saturday, May 27, 2017, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 6600 block of North Michigan Rd. reference a personal injury accident.
When officers arrived, they located a black Ford sedan with the driver’s side crushed in. Indianapolis Fire and EMS assisted with getting the occupant of this vehicle out safely and transported the elderly woman to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The striking vehicle was described as a black full-sized van which fled the scene after the accident.
Hit and Run/ Accident Investigators are seeking the Publics help in locating the suspect’s vehicle. The black 1998-2004 Dodge Ram van, which had a ladder on the roof when the crash occurred will have significant front passenger side damage. After the crash, it is believed that the van fled southbound on Michigan Road and turned westbound onto W. 62nd Street. The 75-year-old victim of the crash still remains in the hospital in critical condition.
