Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives investigate a fatal shooting on the city’s northwest side.
On June 4, 2017, just before 1:30 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 5600 block of Whitcomb Court reference a person shot. When officers arrived, they discovered an unresponsive adult male who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers called for the assistance of Wayne Township Medics who later pronounced the male dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were called and they immediately began investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency has processed the crime scene for possible forensic evidence. Detectives have not yet released any additional details to include possible suspect descriptions. The decedent’s name will be available through the Marion County Coroner’s Office once proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
