INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives have made an arrest in the shooting death of 18-year-old Brittany McNew, who was pregnant at the time of her death on May 4, 2017.
27-year-old Jonathan McGee was in-custody in Johnson County on an unrelated warrant when IMPD Homicide detectives filed for and were granted a warrant for his arrest on murder and attempted murder charges. The warrant was served and McGee will be transferred to Marion County on those charges at a later time.

INDIANAPOLIS – Brittany McNew, 18, died today at Eskenazi Hospital as a result of injuries sustained during a shooting in the 3400 block of W Michigan Street.
There are no suspects at this time. Homicide Detectives continue to investigate and talk to witnesses.

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a female in critical condition on the city’s southwest side.
Shortly after 9:15 am on May 4, 2017, officers with IMPD were dispatched to the 3400 Block of W Michigan Street on the report of a person shot. When officers arrived they located an adult female who was struck by gunfire. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) responded to the scene and transported the victim to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
Because of the serious nature of the injuries, Homicide Detectives responded and began investigating the case. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting possible forensic evidence. At this time, detectives are trying to gather information on possible suspects and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
