Just after 11 a.m. on July 12, 2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 2900 block of Caroline Avenue on reports of shots fired. When officers arrived they located one male in a driveway and another male in a home who was unresponsive. Responding officers called for the assistance of Indianapolis EMS personnel who responded and pronounced the two males deceased on scene.
Homicide detectives responded and began canvassing the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The name of the deceased males can be obtained from the MCCO after proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
