INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating after a man is found shot several times and later dies at the hospital.
Just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 10000 Hawkins Court on the city’s far east side. When officers arrived, they found a man in a grassy area suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported by Indianapolis EMS to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition where he later died. The man’s name will not be released at this time to allow appropriate notification of his next-of-kin.
Homicide detectives canvassed the area looking for additional information, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine cause and manner of death after an autopsy has been preformed. Detectives have not yet released any reliable suspect information. Should additional information become available this release may be updated.
