INDIANAPOLIS – Just before 6:00 p.m. on Friday (8/11/17) officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 6400 block of Park Central Drive West reference a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a man critically wounded suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The Indianapolis Fire Department and IEMS arrived and transported the man in critical condition to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi hospital where he later died. The man’s identity will not be released at this time to allow time for his family to be notified.
Detectives are canvassing the area for additional information, and have not yet released any reliable suspect information. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will identify and ensure the victim’s next-of-kin have been notified. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will also determine a cause and manner of death. Should additional information become available this release may be updated.
