For the past several years the robocalls have gotten worse and worse. So bad to the point that most of us don’t answers calls from numbers that we do not know.
You’ve probably heard from “Rachel from Card Services“. And from the “Your Car Warranty Has Expired” scammers. Or from countless other such robocall miscreants. If you’ve not, please consider yourself lucky.
Do Not Call Lists
In Indiana, you can signup for the Indiana Do Not Call List with the Office of the Indiana Attorney General at https://www.in.gov/attorneygeneral/2445.htm.
In the United States as a whole, be sure to check out https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/stop-unwanted-calls-texts-and-faxes & https://www.donotcall.gov/.
Though in our experience, much like any government mandated bans & laws, this is often fruitless. Scammers are still going to scam. And they’ll spoof numbers too. And call from multiple numbers, often within minutes of each other.
Stop the Robocalls From Ringing You
That said, we like to keep track of these numbers and stop them from bothering us again. While they tend to use multiple numbers, eventually you’ll see the same one again. So what we do is save the number in our phone and call it something like “Robo Scams”. Then assign the number a custom name such as “Rachel”. And the final piece of the puzzle is setting “Robo Scams” to go directly to voicemail. Sometimes they leave messages, sometimes they don’t. But regardless, they’ll never get a live answer.

Known Robocall Numbers to Block
And without further ado, here are the numbers we’ve received robocalls recently to personal numbers that are on the Do Not Call list. The type of call will be noted when known.
- 317-413-4357 (Security System Robocall)
- 317-490-2766
- 317-490-3687
- 317-490-5241
- 317-490-6895 (Security System Robocall)
- 317-490-9241 (Security System Robocall)
- 317-506-4594 (Security System Robocall)
Note that every single one of these is a “local” Indianapolis number, which appears to be in the wireless number exchanges. But we have also seen these from other area codes as well.
