Alex Tagliani took the pole position in the “Fast Nine”, one run shoot-out due to the rain, for the 2011 Indianapolis 500. Dario Franchitti ran out of fuel on his run, thus the 9 spot.

Day Seven, a.k.a. “Fast Friday”, of the 2011 Indianapolis 500 practice at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was another excellent one, and our third full day of practice which turned in the fastest laps of the year yet.
Six drivers were aver 228 mph and twelve drivers were over 227 mph, so if track conditions are right, my guess is still that the pole could very well be in the 227 – 228 mph range.
