World-champion competitive eaters Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo, both top-ranked Major League Eating (MLE) athletes, will join forces to consume 100 bowls of St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail in 20 minutes to raise money for three nonprofit organizations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail Eating Championship, normally held in-person, as part of the Big Ten Football Championship Game festivities, will be a free event streamed via Facebook Live on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m.

In addition to watching the virtual event, fans have the opportunity to give back by contributing a donation online for every bowl of St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail consumed by Chestnut and Sudo. Varying donation levels range from $10 (equivalent to .10 cents per bowl) – $1,000 (equivalent to $10 per bowl), or any amount chosen by the donor. All proceeds raised will be divided and donated equally to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, Gleaner’s Food Bank and Wheeler Mission.

Donations can be made online using this EventBrite link and clicking on “Tickets.” Donors contributing $1,000 or more will receive a Huse Culinary prize pack and autographed items from Joey Chestnut.
