Verizon Wireless officially launches its 4G LTE network in Indianapolis on Thursday, June 16, complete with chocolate bars and a hidden golden ticket.
Only one 4G chocolate bar at each of the two select Indianapolis stores will carry a golden ticket redeemable for a 4G DROID Charge worth more than $500.
In Indianapolis, residents and businesses within the I-465 loop will benefit from the new network when all 4G LTE smartphones, laptop modems and mobile hotspots tap speeds up to 10 times faster than the company’s 3G network.
In real-world, fully-loaded network environments, 4G LTE users should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
