Under the Radar Presents Seryn at Birdy’s Bar and Grill
Friday, April 19, 2013 at 8:00pm
Under the Radar is proud to present Seryn live at Birdy’s on Friday April 19. Seryn is a Texas-based band that has earned accolades throughout the music industry.
Seryn is a 6 piece band who calls Denton, Texas their home. When listening to the well layered textures of guitars, ukulele, accordion, bass, viola, banjo and various percussion, it’s hard to imagine This Is Where We Are is the band’s debut effort. The band’s strength resides in their vast musical talent and understanding of dynamics. Their beauty is gracefully displayed through chilling harmonies. Each member and their voice carry the same importance. One is not complete without the other.
Paste Magazine named Seryn the best act of the 2011 South by Southwest Festival in Austin. That is high praise coming from one of the most respected music magazines in the United States.
Doors will open at 8 pm with music starting at 9 pm.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

Acoustic Piano sensation Me In Radio will be taking the stage at Birdy’s Bar and Grill with special guest R- Into Astral Orbit and Christa Martini. Doors open at 8pm, show begins 8:30 pm, with $7 pre-sale/$12 night of show.
Me In Radio is avant garde by nature. Rooted within piano, guitar, and melodic undertones of emotion, this one man theatrical act provides a performance that is both promising and meaningful. Recently, Me In Radio released the debut album “Gianni’s Brother”- now available on many major online music distributors (e.g., iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon).
The stage is not new for this one-man-wonder, as he has performed throughout many parts of the Midwest. At age, 20 Versace was the founder and front man of SoupKitchen. A decade later he discovered Me In Radio. “My style is much different than what is gifted to the mainstream public,” says Versace, although influenced by performers such as Ryan Adams, Bjork, Ani Difranco, Fiona Apple and Tori Amos.
Me In Radio generates a plight of raw emotion, leaving crowds wanting more. Often losing himself in the storm of the stage, Versace delivers a performance that is both promising and meaningful. “My favorite part of any performance is scanning the crowd and noticing different reactions…One minute I may notice someone laughing hysterically, while another is caught up emotionally,” he states. That which makes Me In Radio dynamic is what Versace brings to the stage, and what the audience takes away. “I’m excited to play Birdy’s, as I’ve always loved this city and the people,” says Versace.
